I own one of these Aerobic Striptease DVDs and I have to admit they don't provide much of an aerobic workout. To be quite honest I only tried the workout one time and I thought it was almost pointless. If you are a fan of Carmen's Aerobic Striptease, you won't want to miss out on the latest addition to her collection 'In The Bedroom'.

While watching the news a few nights ago I learned of the newly recognized fitness trend; JourneyDance.

The creator of 'JourneyDance' Toni Bergins says "I'm teaching people how to love themselves and how to love their body,".

What is Journey Dance?

JourneyDance is a playful and intuitive method of using movement to discover and celebrate our inner strengths. We are all dancers, emotion in motion. We cleanse our bodies and minds with sweat and breath, laughter and prayer. We discover the anatomy of the soul. We feel our power and aliveness. We learn to love ourselves. We find balance and blessings. We become bright, shining, radiant.

Impulsed by music, using elements of theater, visualization, vocalization, guided sequences, and improvisational movement, we awaken our imaginations. We embark on a journey to fully express ourselves as soul. At the journey's end we return home, embodied and whole.

You may even purchase an instructional JourneyDance CD HERE for $20. The site provides a free sample download.

Does this sound like something you might try?

I just reviewed some of your comments about Tracy Anderson and her legal issues. I was unaware of her bad reputation until I read this LINK! Most importantly I wanted to let you know that I did receive my DVD.

The Tracy Anderson Dance Aerobics DVD includes:

  • 2 hours of in-depth instructional
  • 45 minutes of heart pumping dance fun
  • a personal interview with Tracy discussing the basics of fitness through dance

I honestly tried the video once. I think it's really good for people who prefer dancing to other forms of cardiovascular exercise. I'm a terrible dancer and perhaps this video could help me improve my skills, but I'd rather go for a jog!

I am a total workout fanatic. Missing a workout makes my day feel slightly incomplete. Cardio gets the blood pumping and releases happy endorphins in the brain! Unfortunately some days we can't make it to the gym for various reasons. On days like that I just create my own little workout routine. I'll do a series of crunches, jumping jacks, lunges, squats, stretches, yoga and pilates moves, etc etc...

Here are some tips for working out away from the gym:

  • Pop an aerobic, yoga, pilates or dance video into your DVD player to get your groove on. The average person burns about 200 calories with just 30 minutes of low impact aerobics.
  • Use two equal weighted water bottles as weights. I've actually tried this and it work excellently!
  • Utilize your staircase as a stair stepping device. The average person burns about 150 calories with just 30 minutes of moderate stair stepping.
  • Blast your favorite tunes and dance around your living room for some great cardio. The average person burns about 200 calories with just 30 minutes of fast pace dancing.
  • Get into super cleaning mode. Dust, scrub, vacuum, organize, and fold some calories away. The average person burns about 100 calories with just 30 minutes of simple house simple house cleaning.
  • CLICK HERE TO TRY AN AWESOME ABDOMINAL ROUTINE!

The calories burned estimated are based on a 150 pound person. To find out the actual amount of calories you would burn doing various exercises depending on your weight Click Here!
