For the past 2 days I've been dealing with a nasty cold, which is why I haven't been posting as much as usual.  While I was out shopping at Trader Joe's I decided to pick up a box of Acai Berry flavored Emergen-C out of despair. Before trying anything new, I always do some online research by reading several customer reviews. I like to be sure the product I'm consuming has a good reputation. Needless to say the reviews for Emergen-C won me over.

Drinking Emergen-C provided me with some extra energy while I was sick and I believe it helped to me to recover faster. The really cool thing about this product is that you can take it as a daily vitamin supplement whether you're sick or not. It's also a much healthy alternative to caffeinated energy drinks.

I am a firm believer in the benefits of kombucha tea  and drink it regularly. Kombucha supports digestion, metabolism, immune system, appetite control, weight control, liver function, body alkalinity, anti-aging, cell integrity, healthy skin and healthy hair.

These are two major kombucha brands sold at health food stores; GT's Organic Raw Kombucha and Carpe Diem Kombucha. Which is the better choice?

After trying both brands, I prefer GT's Organic Raw Kombucha to Carpe Diem Kombucha. It has fewer calories, more flavor options and no added sugar. I feel as though GT's is the healthier option; however I do think that a person new to kombucha tea may prefer the taste of Carpe Diem.

What's your opinion about kombucha tea?

In April's issue of Shape magazine Samantha Who? star Jennifer Esposito shares her secrets to staying fit, healthy, and confident.

HER DIET: " I Like to get cozy at home, make pizza, and drink wine" she admits. She's not the type of girl who feels guilty about eating comfort foods. She lives by the philosophy: you gain some, you lose some. When the actress needs to be back to her camera ready weight Jennifer eliminates everything white and refined from her diet, like flour and sugar, and cuts back on non-vegetable carbs.

HER FITNESS: She does yoga and pilates regularly and sometimes adds 30 minutes of cardio on the treadmill or elliptical trainer when she needs to drop a few pounds.

HOW SHE GETS ENERGIZED: Jennifer's favorite breakfast is a fruit packed protein shake.

In a blender combine...

  • A handful each of two different kinds of berries. Strawberries and blueberries work well.
  • Half of banana
  • 1 tsp ground flaxseeds
  • 2 scoops whey protein powder
  • A combined cup of unsweetened cranberry juice, goji juice, and acai juice.

"It's energizing and keeps me full" she says.

In case you were thinking about trying yoga or if you’re confused about which type of classes to take, iyogalife.com provides direction. Learn the differences between Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikrim and many other yoga styles. Find out what the classes are like and what they will do for you. With the help of this guide you'll discover the perfect yoga class for you!

As for me, I love all yoga but my personal favorite yoga types are Ashtanga and Kundalini. Although they are on opposite ends of the yoga spectrum, each style serves me in a way that the other style can't. When I'm feeling up tight or tired I enjoy practicing Kundalini because it amps me up and puts me in an amazing mood. On the other hand if I'm having a stressful day, if I'm having trouble relaxing and just need to come back down to earth, Ashtanga works wonders.

Click here for the guide  and good luck experiencing the many amazing ways to practice yoga!
