Kim Kardashian is well on her way conquering her weight loss goal. Recently she blogged "I am focused now and my goal is to lose about ten pounds and gain back five in muscle". Some nasty rumors where going around that Kim's football player boyfriend was urging her to lose weight but she confirms on her blog that the story is false. However the reality star has been self motivated to workout with her man as of lately. She even tags along for workouts with his football buddies:

"The other day a bunch of us went to Manhattan Beach and ran up and down the sand dunes! Adrienne and I tagged along with Reggie and his football buddies and tried to keep up with their workout!

It was just normal exercise for Reggie, since he has to get ready for training camp. But for me it was the hardest workout of my life!

We had to sprint up the hill, then backwards and again sideways!"

That does sound like a pretty intense workout!

Did you know that jogging in the sand can help you to burn twice as many calories as road running? It can also be less taxing on your joints than running on pavement. Here are some tips for running on the beach;

  • Choose your shoes
You don’t need a specific type for beach running, but try to dedicate one pair of running shoes for beach runs so you don’t have to attempt the nearly impossible task of removing all the sand after your workout.
  • Start on wet sand
Do your first beach run on the wet, firm sand near the water. Gradually progress to running on the softer sand for 1- to 2-minute intervals, then walking on the hard, wet sand for 3 to 5 minutes to recover. Stick with short runs totaling 15 or 20 minutes until you adapt to the soft sand.
  • Finish barefoot
Postrun, take off your shoes and cool down by walking barefoot on the beach for a few minutes to strengthen your feet and ankles. Sand is a great exfoliator, too, so it’s like you’re getting a natural pedicure.

Cardio is an important part of staying in shape and it's sometimes difficult squeezing regular sweat sessions into a busy schedule. With my interval training treadmill routine you'll get a great cardiovascular workout in just 22 minutes. Fitting this routine in about 4 times a week will have you fitting perfectly into your bikini.

Use a treadmill for this routine:

Walk at 4.2 for 1 minute

Jog at 5.2 for 1 minute

Run at 6.0 for 3 minutes

Jog at 5.0 for 2 minutes

Run at 6.0 for 3 minutes

Jog at 5.4 for 2 minutes

Sprint at 6.2 for 3 minutes

Walk at 4.2 for 2 minutes

If time permits cool down with some stretches!

Spring is the perfect time of year to start getting serious about looking great. For the past few weeks I've been upping my workout intensity level and cutting back on calories, in hopes to look hot for bikini season. I'm starting the 'BIKINI FIT FOR SUMMER' tips in efforts to help all of you Be Hollywood Fit readers look your best on the beach this summer.

The first step for being bikini fit is to get the appropriate fitness footwear:

Are your running shoes providing enough support?

Jogging sneakers are designed to provide support for your ankles helping to prevent injuries. It's important to replace them when they become worn out. Frequent joggers may need new sneakers every 4-6 months. If it's your time to purchase new running/walking shoes I suggest following these Guidelines For Buying Athletic Footwear.

I especially love the athletic shoe fitting program provided by New Balance stores. You may want to read about my New Balance experience.  CLICK HERE TO FIND A NEW BALANCE STORE NEAR YOU.

MY PICK: New Balance ZIP 8508

I'm loving these comfortable and stylish running sneakers!
