I've never been into fake baking or self tanning creams but when I noticed my little sister's natural-looking glow, I had to ask. It's the time of year to get some color, with the transition from cold to warm, from sweaters to tank tops and long pants to short shorts. I decided that trying this affordable lotion would be a useful story for Be Hollywood Fit. I followed the exact directions and used the lotion everyday for exactly two weeks. I noticed major results in just two days. I looked tan(not orange) almost instantly and wore shorts for days just to show off my glowing legs. I also noticed the firming effects immediately on my inner thighs and tummy. To keep my face matching the rest of me, I applied just a touch of organic bronzer to my cheeks. My boyfriend was even fooled, he has no idea I've been using the lotion and thinks that my instant tan is natural. I posted about FitFlops on March 25th and that very same week I bought a pair for myself. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical at first because $50 for a pair of plain black flip flops seems pricey. I'm happy to announce that my purchase was worth every penny. First of all they're extremely comfortable to the point where I've actually worn them on a 2 mile walk with my dog. Any other time I've ever worn flip flops on a walk, I ended up with blisters and soar ankles. After walking two miles with FitFlops the only thing burning was my butt and thighs, in a good way. I have been wearing them everywhere and sometimes instead of other higher priced designer sandals. I'm petite, so anything comfortable with height is a winner. I can't promise that wearing FitFlops will give you perfect legs. I wear them in addition to regular exercise, but I defiantly feel the burn! They're the perfect shoe for running errands and shopping!

Who says grilling has to be unhealthy? You don't have to eat hot dogs and hamburgers to utilize your grill; make grilled veggies instead. Here in Connecticut the weather is perfect for having a BBQ and it has inspired me to share one of my favorite healthy grill recipes.

This recipe should serve 4-6 people as a side. You can serve the grilled veggies along side steak, fish, shrimp or even tofu. Try this tasty recipe for grilled tofu.

Ingredients:

1 egg plant sliced about cm. width
1 bunch brocolini
1 zucchini sliced about cm. width
3 Large portobello mushroom caps sliced in 4ths
4 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil
3 Tbs. balsamic vinegar
1 Tsp. basil
1 Tsp. garlic powder
1/2 Tsp. Sea salt

Directions:

  1. Add sliced veggies, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and spices to large zip-lock bag.
  2. Close the zip-lock bag and mix the ingredients in the bag.
  3. Let veggies marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours or longer.
  4. Pre-heat grill for 10 minutes and put grill on lowest heat setting before adding veggies.
  5. Cook veggies for about 10-12 minutes flipping half way.
  6. Take off grill and serve on platter.

Cardio is an important part of staying in shape and it's sometimes difficult squeezing regular sweat sessions into a busy schedule. With my interval training treadmill routine you'll get a great cardiovascular workout in just 22 minutes. Fitting this routine in about 4 times a week will have you fitting perfectly into your bikini.

 Use a treadmill for this routine:

Walk at 4.2 for 1 minute

Jog at 5.2 for 1 minute

Run at 6.0 for 3 minutes

Jog at 5.0 for 2 minutes

Run at 6.0 for 3 minutes

Jog at 5.4 for 2 minutes

Sprint at 6.2 for 3 minutes

Walk at 4.2 for 2 minutes

If time permits cool down with some stretches!

Spring is the perfect time of year to start getting serious about looking great. For the past few weeks I've been upping my workout intensity level and cutting back on calories, in hopes to look hot for bikini season.
