Did you know that jogging in the sand can help you to burn twice as many calories as road running? It can also be less taxing on your joints than running on pavement. Here are some tips for running on the beach;

  • Choose your shoes
You don’t need a specific type for beach running, but try to dedicate one pair of running shoes for beach runs so you don’t have to attempt the nearly impossible task of removing all the sand after your workout.
  • Start on wet sand
Do your first beach run on the wet, firm sand near the water. Gradually progress to running on the softer sand for 1- to 2-minute intervals, then walking on the hard, wet sand for 3 to 5 minutes to recover. Stick with short runs totaling 15 or 20 minutes until you adapt to the soft sand.
  • Finish barefoot
Postrun, take off your shoes and cool down by walking barefoot on the beach for a few minutes to strengthen your feet and ankles. Sand is a great exfoliator, too, so it’s like you’re getting a natural pedicure.

Want to curb your appetite? Use these 7 helpful tips to eat less!

EAT FIBER: Unrefined foods, especially those that are high in fiber, stimulate appetite-suppressing hormones and make you feel full

BRUSH YOUR TEETH: Take a break from eating to brush up. The minty flavor of toothpaste helps you resist eating more.

BE CONSISTENT: Eating breakfast and regularly scheduled meals keeps hormone levels steady and quashes hunger pangs

EAT SLOWER: It takes a while for the brain to realize that the stomach is stretching. Eating slowly gives the brain time to catch on.

FEWER CARBS: Carbohydrates make you hungrier. Load up on fats and proteins.

PORTION CONTROL: Smaller portions mean fewer calories are taken in, so less fat gets stored. A point system assigns a value to portions of all sorts of foods to help tabulate—and limit—daily consumption.

MEAT FREE:  At nine calories per gram, fat is more than twice as dense as protein and carbs. Thus dieters can consume the same amount of food but still lose weight if they eat less fat. Focusing on complex carbs like whole grains helps stabilize blood sugar, and lots of fiber increases satiety.

I've never been into fake baking or self tanning creams but when I noticed my little sister's natural-looking glow, I had to ask. It's the time of year to get some color, with the transition from cold to warm, from sweaters to tank tops and long pants to short shorts. I decided that trying this affordable lotion would be a useful story for Be Hollywood Fit. I followed the exact directions and used the lotion everyday for exactly two weeks. I noticed major results in just two days. I looked tan(not orange) almost instantly and wore shorts for days just to show off my glowing legs. I also noticed the firming effects immediately on my inner thighs and tummy. To keep my face matching the rest of me, I applied just a touch of organic bronzer to my cheeks. My boyfriend was even fooled, he has no idea I've been using the lotion and thinks that my instant tan is natural. I give this product two thumbs up and will continue to use it throughout the summer.

Want to know how celebrities get bikini ready? Us Weekly shares the details:

Josie Maran of Josie Maran Cosmetics says she doesn't do much to keep her body bikini ready. The 5-foot-6 beauty maintains her 112-pound physique with yoga twice a week.

Singer Christina Milian says "I've been in the gym pretty heavy,". The size-0 star keeps fit with 45 minutes of cardio, plus weights, squats and 500 sit-ups, five days a week! As for her diet she's banned Oreos, upped her veggie intake and limited her carbs. "I eat in moderation", she says.

You wont find Rumer Willis working out with a trainer. "If you can discipline yourself to workout with a trainer, thats cool, but I don't," she admits. The actress prefers running in L.A.'s Runyon Canyon. "I go with my friends who have dogs. And every once in a while, I go workout with my mom." Rumer doesn't worry much about her pant size she says it's more important "Just being healthy and in shape."

Reality star Kristin Cavallari is no stranger to the beach scene. " I went to high school on the beach, so I'm used to it,". To keep her body looking fab in a bikini she works out with Jessica Simpson's trainer pro Mike Alexander for an hour up to four days a week. Her workouts consist of light weights and cardio. Landing movie rolls are her "motivation to hit the gym again." As for her diet, "it's all about proportions." she says. I Binge-eat if I'm too strict." she admits.

I posted about FitFlops on March 25th and that very same week I bought a pair for myself. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical at first because $50 for a pair of plain black flip flops seems pricey. I'm happy to announce that my purchase was worth every penny. First of all they're extremely comfortable to the point where I've actually worn them on a 2 mile walk with my dog. Any other time I've ever worn flip flops on a walk, I ended up with blisters and soar ankles. After walking two miles with FitFlops the only thing burning was my butt and thighs, in a good way. I have been wearing them everywhere and sometimes instead of other higher priced designer sandals. I'm petite, so anything comfortable with height is a winner. I can't promise that wearing FitFlops will give you perfect legs. I wear them in addition to regular exercise, but I defiantly feel the burn! They're the perfect shoe for running errands and shopping!

You can buy FitFlops at the BE FIT STORE Powered by Amazon.com!
