hydrated during her trip to NYC with John Mayer Thursday. Since she's been spending
time with Mayer, Jen seems to be happy as ever. The combination of love butterflies
and Smartwater has Jen glowing. According to Aniston the simplest key to great

I never thought the day would come when the plus sized girl would actually win
it all. <strong>Whitney Thompson</strong> catwalked her way to becoming <em>America’s
Next Top Model</em>’s <a href="http://tvwatch.people.com/2008/05/15/whitney-thompson-wins-americas-next-top-model/">first
full-figured winner</a> on Wednesday’s episode. I'm wondering if they did it
solely based on talent or if there's some truth to the rumor that they had her win
for publicity. Either way, I think it sends a great message to young girls; a
good personality, a healthy body image, and self-confidence is far more important
that fitting into a size 0. In fact the past few days I've heard the phrase "SKINNY
IS OUT" several times. Do you think this is true?

Hummus has a reputation for being a healthy, high protein, low-fat and low-calorie
food, but some brands aren't all they're cracked up to be. I'm an avid fan of snacking
on hummus, so you can bet that I've seen it all. From Whole Foods to Trader Joe's,
there are so many varieties of the chic pea based dip,<br />
that it's hard to tell the good from the bad. 
</p>
        <p>
The first rule I follow while choosing hummus; it should be no more than 50 calories
per 2 tbs. If the dip exceeds the 50 calorie limit, I automatically assume it to be
counter productive against my diet. Why would I buy hummus with extra calories, when
I can have a lower calorie version. 
</p>
        <p>
The second thing I do is look at the ingredients. I know that a traditional hummus
should contain chick peas, water, tahini(sesame seed paste), salt, natural spices,
citric acid and maybe olive oil. Also, I've learned not to assume that all hummus
is vegan or even vegetarian friendly. Just the other day I noticed that the Trader
Joe's varieties include milk, egg and fish. Who would have thought a simple bean dip
could possibly break all of the rules.

Because beans already have the reputation for bloating us, extra sodium is the last
thing we need. When buying hummus always opt for the brand with less sodium. I've
seen varieties range from 60 mg to 200 mg.

          <strong>MY PICK: </strong>I love Wild Garden Hummus Dip. It's 100% vegan, only 35
calories per serving, and comes in 8 different flavors. You can't go wrong!

It's becoming easier and easier to eat vegan, because the food is so tasty. This
week I tried two amazing vegan frozen food items; Garden Burger BBQ Riblets and
the Kashi Black Bean Mango Entrée.

I was a little skeptical about trying these considering that I never liked ribs or
pork at any point in my life, but my love for BBQ sauce won me over. Lets just say
while I was cooking them, my meat eating boyfriend and all of his friends
where coming in the kitchen asking me "What smells so good?". The boys were actually
astounded by the concept of vegan BBQ ribs. I had one serving of the ribs (240 calories)
along with a side of steamed spinach and mashed butternut squash. The meal was so
delicious and perfectly well rounded. I love this product and will be buying them
again!

I like to stock my freezer with microwavable entrées for those days when I'm either
in a rush or don't feel like cooking. I really love the Amy's Kitchen frozen meals
but I decided to try the Kashi Black Bean Mango Entrée the other day. The meal includes
Black beans with roasted red onions and green peppers, red peppers and carrots. Served
over Kashi 7 Whole Grains Pilaf and topped with fire-roasted mango sauce. I especially
loved the sweet yet not overly tangy mango sauce. It tasted great and filled me right
up.

where she has a treadmill, elliptical, and dumbbells. " I love it when my arms are
toned, so we use weights to target them-- and we do lunges to give my small butt
more shape," she says. </em>

I've noticed that fast food restaurants have been marketing those little snack wraps
as if they're a healthier than eating the regular sized sandwich. Don't be fooled
by this. It's important to know that many times snack wraps contain starchy white
flour, trans fats and fatty condiments loaded with unnecessary calories. Try my healthy
version of the snack wrap!
</p>
        <p>
          <strong>INGREDIENTS:</strong>
        </p>
        <ul>
          <li>
1 Veggie Burger (I like <a href="http://amyskitchen.com/products/category_view.php?prod_category=1">Amy's
California Veggie Burgers</a>). You may also use a beef burger or chicken patty. 
</li>
          <li>
1 medium sized whole grain wrap ( I love Trader Joe's Whole Grain Flax Wraps). The
more fiber the better!! 
</li>
          <li>
1 slice red onion 
</li>
          <li>
1/2 cup iceberg or romaine lettuce 
</li>
          <li>
2 tbs yellow mustard. You may use condiment of your choice. 
</li>
        </ul>
        <p>
          <strong>DIRECTIONS:</strong>
        </p>
        <ul>
          <li>
Grill, fry or microwave burger pattie and cut into 4 strips 
</li>
          <li>
Arrange burger strips, onion, lettuce, and mustard in the wrap. 
</li>
          <li>
Wrap it up and enjoy!</li>

trying to find new ways to consume more of them. The other day I tried this new antioxidant
drink called Purple, and It's rather tasty. I'd describe the taste as similar to pomegranate
juice, but less tart and all around better. I love that Purple is a combination of
many antioxidant-rich fruit juices instead of just one or two.

          <strong>The fruit:</strong> Purple are Açai, black cherry, pomegranate, black currant,
purple plum, cranberry and blueberry.

After reading &lt;a href="http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/diet.fitness/04/16/cl.antioxidant.dna/index.htmlJust"&gt;this
article on CNN explaining exactly how antioxidants work&amp;nbsp;&lt;/a&gt;,&amp;nbsp;I've been
trying to find new ways to consume more of them. The other day I tried this new antioxidant
drink called Purple, and It's rather tasty. I'd describe the taste as similar to pomegranate
juice, but less tart and all around better. I love that Purple is a combination of
many antioxidant-rich fruit juices instead of just one or two. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;The fruit:&lt;/strong&gt; Purple are Açai, black cherry, pomegranate, black currant,
purple plum, cranberry and blueberry. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;The antioxidants: &lt;/strong&gt;One group of antioxidant power sources are Carotenoids,
such as beta-carotene, alpha carotene, lycopenes, lutein, and zeaxanthin. The other
set of antioxidants is known as Flavonoids.

I've never been into fake baking or self tanning creams but when I noticed my little
sister's natural-looking glow, I had to ask. It's the time of year to get some color,
with the transition from cold to warm, from sweaters to tank tops and long pants to
short shorts. I decided that trying this affordable lotion would be a useful story

There is no denying that Gwyneth Paltrow has been a trendsetter in the diet and
fitness industry.  I can actually remember trying the insanely impossible macrobiotic
diet made popular but Gwyneth and fit pal Madonna. Now let me tell you, if you find
vegetarianism to be difficult, don't even think about becoming macrobiotic. I stuck
with the insanely strict diet for only a week before giving up. In fact I actually
found myself gaining weight from the overload of rice and beans. I can't believe Gwyneth
ate macrobiotic for four entire years, she must be very disciplined.

The former macrobiotic eater now admits to kissing her strict eating habits good-bye
in exchange for fried food. I don't understand how she could go from one extreme to
another so easily?!

There is no denying that Gwyneth Paltrow has been a trendsetter&amp;nbsp;in the diet and
fitness industry. &amp;nbsp;I can actually remember trying the insanely impossible macrobiotic
diet made popular but Gwyneth and fit pal Madonna. Now let me tell you, if you find
vegetarianism to be difficult, don't even think about becoming macrobiotic. I&amp;nbsp;stuck
with&amp;nbsp;the insanely strict diet for only a week before giving up. In fact I actually
found myself gaining weight from the overload of rice and beans. I can't believe Gwyneth
ate macrobiotic for four entire years, she must be very disciplined. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p dir=ltr&gt;
The former macrobiotic eater now admits to kissing her strict eating habits&amp;nbsp;good-bye
in exchange for fried food. I don't understand how she could go from one extreme to
another so easily?!
&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;
&lt;em&gt;"I was seriously macrobiotic for four years," she tells BBC talk show host Jonathan
Ross in a program set to air Friday in the U.K. "When I [first] got pregnant, it changed.
I couldn't go near anything healthy."

Since giving birth to daughter Apple (whom she calls "Appley-Dappley") in 2004 and
son Moses in 2006, Paltrow's tastes give a whole new twist to the term "Yummy Mummy."

"I love anything fried – fish and chips – Branston pickle [jarred relish], red wine,"
she told the show. And she admits to regularly enjoying a pint of her favorite stout,
Guinness. &lt;/em&gt;
