Felicity Huffman and husband  William H. Macy ran the ‘Nautica Malibu Triathlon‘ which was held at Zuma Beach in California.

Now we know how the actress stays fit, she's a runner!

Last night's biggest loser trivia question revealed that 51% of Americans say they eat fast food as a family meal at least once a week. I was completely shocked by that number. How can anyone consider fast food to be a family meal ? With exception of subway on occasion I never eat fast food. Does it surprise you that more than half of Americans eat fast food so frequently?

If you must eat fast food...

Stay away from fried or crispy chicken, instead choose grilled.

Don't eat the burgers, the meat is VERY POOR QUALITY!

Order a salad but don't be fooled by the salad dressing. Most fast food salad dressing is very high in fat, sugar and calories. Maybe you can keep a bottle of low cal balsamic vinaigrette stashed in your glove box.

Never order soda, always choose bottled water!

A study by researchers at the Department of Kinesiology at Occidental College in Los Angeles found that balance balls do serve a purpose.  The study says crunches performed on a stability ball boosted activation, or flexing, of abdominal muscles by 24 to 38 percent over crunches done without a ball. Participants in the study were fitted with electromyographic equipment that registered heightened activity in upper and lower abs as well as in obliques.

If you don't already have a balance ball I highly recommend Gaiam's Anti-burst BalanceBall available for $30.

This is how to perform an ab crunch using your stability ball:

  • Begin in Positive Seated Posture; roll out until lower back is resting comfortably on ball.
  • Place feet flat on floor, shoulder-width apart.
  • Position hands behind head to support its weight, elbows pointing directly out to sides.
  • Raise head even with torso and gaze straight up.
  • Inhale deeply; on exhale, contract lower abs.
  • Hold the flex and inhale; on exhale, slowly curl torso forward, flexing middle and upper abs to raise chest up and toward pelvis. Allow head to follow chest. Do not force or pull head forward. Allow abs to do the work.
  • Raise chest until you feel abs completely contracted; hold for 3 to 5 comfortable, deep breaths.
  • Release slowly, allowing head and chest to drop back down to torso level. Breathe.
  • Repeat 10 to 12 times. Add more repetitions as you become stronger

"Weight is a big issue in Hollywood because I'm twice the size, height and everything else, of most of the girls who are going in to see the director for a part. When you realize that I am, at my size, one of the largest actresses there, you start to think, 'I don't think it'd be healthy for me to stay here much longer."

I'm beginning to think that Keira Knightley is delusional. Maybe in an alternate universe Kiera is large and Rosie O'Donnell is small.
